I’m a Christian. I’m really sorry you had to go through that. No child should feel unsafe in their own home. Jesus said something really important here: “by their fruits you shall know them” by which he meant that if someone says they’re a good person, but the “fruits” or consequences of their actions are evil… they aren’t actually a good person.
