If money is speech like the US Supreme Court has decided. Fire is also speech. They should be happy it is just flags, and not million dollar mansions that are talking.

The proper way to dispose of an American flag is by burning it in a dignified and respectful manner, preferably during a formal ceremony. If burning is not feasible, burial in a sturdy, non-plastic container is also acceptable. Organizations like the American Legion or VFW often conduct flag retirement ceremonies and can assist with proper disposal.
