um ..... you are white, somewhere in your ancestry. not diminishing you're Maori since that's what you culturally are. also, Africa has their different viewpoints. I'm indigenous from Americas & Im pretty sure I'll still be considered "white" to them. I don't necessarily mean they actually mean "white" - i think Africa goes based more on skin complexion. (someone correct me if I'm wrong) rather than facial features & skin complexion.

Whānau, I used the word Palangi because in my experience it Carrie’s more offence than pakeha, and that’s how it felt being call white person in their native tongue is all

as a South African , im guessing that's where you went since you couldn't identify the country you went to 👀 I'd think you're Indian coloured. ❤

That’s very South African, we respect each others cultures. You’re already 80% there. Also if you explain your identity, we respect that too we won’t push our assumptions on you once you clear it up

It was very interesting. I went to Uganda and I was a “muzungu” which translates to “being lost” If any Ugandan see this comment correct me! When I had conversations I was considered “white” and I was so offended! Lmao but of course I understand now. I’m Cree from Alberta Canada.
