Wait that makes so much sense!! I’m pretty sure my dishwasher is from at least the 90s if not older, so it can’t hurt to help bro out.

Your dishwasher doesn’t heat it’s own water? Most modern dishwashers are only connected to the cold

Hmm, I use the 3 hour delay on my dishwasher so it comes on after we go to bed. My dishes always come out sparkling clean, but maybe I have to rethink this. 🤔

Wait… someone told me that my dishwasher only uses the cold water intake… who lied? And how can I confirm?

That's why I handwash knives and cutting boards with hot water before starting my dishwasher. It's a two for one.

It takes about 30 seconds for my kitchen water and 30 business days for my bathroom sink directly above it. It makes me so mad 😂

What do you do if the pocket for the soap doesn't pop open when using the dishwasher? I have to throw the pod inside the machine

I was always told that I have to run the hot water in my sink before I turn on the dishwasher. I just did it and never questioned the instructions. Thanks for teaching me the reason why I do what I do just because my Dad told me to and I just trusted him.

We moved here a few years ago and there's a Bosch dishwasher. It immediately started ruining my bone china dishes. Starts as a film that changes the glass-like smoothness then the film turns irisdescent after a few more washes and they have to be tossed. Before y'all start: they are plain white and dishwasher-recommended, from several different brands, and I washed them in a 2010 base model GE for years. Not using too much soap, yes they're dirty enough, the water tests no harder or different than prior house. Doesn't ruin glassware, stoneware, porcelain - only the china. I'm at a loss and can't find anything online except maybe it's because Bosch superheats the water even if it's already tap-hot, or something to do with the condensation steam drying thing? Help!

Does this make the delay start timer useless if the water isn't hot enough? Usually mine is set for a delay to run during the night.

Okay … hear me out. So I need you to come to my in-laws house and explain this to them slowly. Also if you wouldn’t mind adding that you have to use the detergent dispenser correct and not just toss the tab or loose powder in the bottom of the tub BECAUSE THATS WHAT APPARENTLY THE SALES TEAM MEMBER TOLD THEM!!!!! That would be great thanks

I've known this for a while...but ONLY because another appliance specialist told us this years ago when he was repairing our dishwasher.

Oh my gosh!!! Moved into a new mobile home, 6 months in and the ice maker in my freezer started freezing over. The little water tube that comes out the freezer wall and fills the ice trays splatters water. TWO men came to fix it, they just shoved a BIGGER tube into the hole and left….now I just don’t use my ice maker.

I heard that at least some models don't heat the water in the prewash cycle either, so it will be less effective.

does it matter how long you run the hot water first? 🙂 just a few seconds is okay?

Since I started using your tip of letting the hot water run first, my dishes are much cleaner, and I appreciate you sharing your knowledge

In our household we have quite a few handwashing only items that are used frequently. Knives mostly but we also limit how often pots and pans are done in the dishwasher. We run it like every other day sometimes more or less but if it’s not full enough it’s not worth running. But always before it’s run I’m hand washing stuff in fairly warm water as our hot water is really hot but takes a solid minute to get to the sink
