unfortunately there are no tips. good luck and keep all the boundaries you can, you’re a grown up too.

the best thing you can do right now is ‘don’t ask, tell.’ not “can i go hang with bf?” say “im going to hang w bf, be back at x time.” then they feel like they’re in the loop a tiny bit and are less likely to fight it. start with small stuff and move up slowly depending on what sets them off... i promise it works, emotionally separate yourself from their childish behavior and you will feel so much freer!! you have to assert your autonomy🫶🫶

everyone saying "if you don't like it then leave" is being so weird. it is absolutely abnormal for parents to be this controlling of their adult children and this is obviously not her first choice of living situation

As someone that went back home to live w my mom after being away for only a year, just move, get your own spot as fast as you can, if you don’t it can potentially ruin any relationship you have with them. A lot of parents have a hard time accepting they’re children are adults/ becoming adults especially when we live under their roof

If you live at home you are subject to their rules. Don’t like it? Get a better job and move. Otherwise put your head down , follow their rules, and make plans to stay there as long as they live or until the kick you out

Honestly I feel like if they’re that crazy with it they won’t budge, ik not rn but might have to endure until you can get your own place bc I get the vibe that they’ll get nasty if you confront them

There's a reason I moved out at 24...leaving the nest is as much for your benefit as it is for theirs.

ask forgiveness, not permission—eventually they’ll cope with the fact rhat you’re an adult and that they can’t control you how they want to, but it’s a slow process unforunately (said from experience) best wishes diva
