Fidelity will also give your child 50 if you open a stock investment account for them after they turn 14 I think it is. You can invest 7k in a Roth IRA each yr and also you can gift up to 17k a yr to put into high yield savings or invest.

Gerber also offers life insurance too. We pay $20 a month for 25k of coverage if he unalives before 18 for any reason. At 18 he can choose to cash out the 25k or take over the account for the same interest/payment rate

I never thought of doing it but mom has 2nd retirement account added for herself that if she ever needs to be in long term care there is already money set aside just for that

We put 8k into stocks and things with a financial advisor on a high yeild a year ago for my son. Now he’s at 11k. He’s only 8 so love to see what it will be when he’s older.

Teaching my kids about money super young is the best thing I’ve ever done. My daughter is so smart with her money and it’s now made her appreciate when she’s given gifts too because she knows the value of someone working hard for the money they spent just to do something kind for her!
