2,3,4 years is too long for a child to be in foster care. The system needs to do better. I have been a foster parent for 10 years and I have seen parents come first too many times.

Continue of course never even went to grand jury but by now I don’t trust system and we were worried about child going through this after all this finally she back on his days paying for private schools all clothes anything she needed all way through high school my husband passed at 56 and I continued paying for school for last year I guess we had some positive things we had done she now in college working doing well and does not talk to mom much I thank god she turned out well after such a life I still she her frequently she misses him so much but I will say I prayed and trusted I God through all I still say system sucks she was never number 1 when decisions were made let me say I do believe kids should be with mom but sometimes it not the right thing thanks for reading

You are 100% correct. I am going through this right now. 5 1/2 years no contact then all of a sudden the courts give her unsupervised visits, now every other weekend visits. These kids are getting failed everyday by CPS!

Today, the agency reunited the baby we had for 7 months since birth while she was at a parent visit overnight so my kids and I didn’t get to say goodbye. We give our whole hearts to these babies. The agencies are buttheads.

Completely true!! I had two for over two years. Already adopted a sibling . CPS sent kids back. They stayed one month then came back to me.

I was in the system twice and I totally get the trauma from learning different lifestyle’s then going back to bio parents and then back into a system, I agree 100% with you with everything you have said about the system!

i agree with you! Alot of times if dcfs would do their jobs then bio parents would get kids back sooner!

I agree. We are fighting to reunite siblings right now and the state does not want it to happen. Your message earlier fueled my fight a little more. 🖤

Was a foster child for years. You’re 100% right. It got to a point I begged my mom to sign rights over because the state wasn’t.

And also listen to the CHILD when they reach a certain age and say “NO MORE ABUSE!” And refuse to go back. We should NOT be forcing children to go back to their abusers.

that is a hill I will die on. it shouldn't take two years. we as foster families are doing the best we know. we love these babies and hold them when they wake up in tears not knowing what or where.

I always could tell within the first2-3 months of having a case if the parents were going to get their kids back. Their motivation told me A LOT!

Absolutely! I know kids still stuck in a foster home after 4years thats to many if bioparent can't get it together after 2 years, rights should be taken!

They forget about the kids and what is best for them! I hold the same stance as you! I co-parent any i can! But that doesn’t mean they aren’t mine! I don’t take their bio-mom’s place. I make my own!

Had to place due to DV. I got her back in 4 months. This was 3/2020- 7/2020 (yep; smack dab during all the closings during the beginning of Covid) nothing stood between me getting her back.

It absolutely does and nobody pays any attention to the damage that it happens to the children. We were foster parents for eight years and we’ve adopted two children from that, but we started because of our family. Fostering is very very is very hard.

9 months or less. Really 6 months. The amount of help and “try’s” they get is ridiculous. These kids still have a life. If the parents wanted them, they would make it happen.
