i don’t even know why, but the whole time i was watching, i got super annoyed at Birdy. then suddenly after that beach scene, boom.. they’re already old. it just felt way too fast, i couldn’t really catch the meaning behind it. the ending felt kinda silly too, so i ended up looking for fan edits to understand more. that’s when i found out it’s actually based on a true story, and that “old version” scene never even happened, the real story ends with that phone call. like… why? maybe i just didn’t get it, or maybe my heart’s just too stubborn. but then i kept wondering, what if Birdy himself ever watched this movie? since it’s all from ahan’s pov, we naturally connect more with his feelings. but Birdy? it must’ve been even more painful for him… like watching his own wounds being replayed, only through someone else’s eyes.
