@nikki.o.kelly: I have been missing fun color and some dimension, so I grabbed the @loréal paris usa Highlight kit (in caramel) and a box of the @clairolhair Root Touch Up (in medium ash brown). My fine curls love a little bit of bleach- it roughens up the cuticle a bit and gives my hair texture. When my hair starts to get “too healthy” my curls go limp and I struggle to get volume. Once I add a little bleach my curls bounce up and volume comes a lot easier. I wasn’t going for a bright blonde, but something more suitable for fall, something a bit warmer. To eliminate any harsh lines, I did a root smudge with the root touch up kit and it softened the look. It was pretty easy to do- I did everything by myself, but did have my husband help me to make sure I didn’t miss any spots. The biggest thing was brushing out and making sure I didn’t have any pieces that weren’t pulled through all the way. When using bleach I ALWAYS wash and condition with the @Redken Acidic Bonding System. I also used a moisturizing gel @Miribel Naturals Hard Hold Gel.
