yesterday my daughter (5) goes “we had a fire drill today mommy we had to play hide and seek really quiet” my son (6) goes “no sissy. It was a lock down, we were hiding” I had to walk into the garage to sob 💔😭

Homeschool if you can. One income is hard, but losing your child would be harder. Homeschool is the best decision I ever made and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. ❤️

It’s mandatory to send our children to school. If not we’re forced to homeschool BUT it’s not mandatory for our government to keep them safe? Something needs to change. My daughters school is an old building from 1920’s no police at the school, windows are not bullet proof but they have cameras. Thats it and it terrifies me everyday

I always linger on my daughter when she gets on the bus. Memorizing her outfit, how she did her hair, what socks she wore that day. Just in case I need to identify her.

My son started preschool a couple weeks ago and he’s so happy there. He talks about going to back to school everyday but I was telling my husband I feel stuck because I get scared to send him to school but I can’t take away from him and hold him back for something I pray will never happen.

This morning I dropped mine off, watched everyone RUN inside the building before the bell rang. I saw cops show up. They found a guy hiding in the park bathroom right next to the school with a 🔫. He dropped it, stole a bike to try to get away, but they caught him. I saw the dropped 🔫. It was almost my reality today. My stomach is still in knots over it.

My daughter just started kindergarten and told me how she had to hide in the classroom with the lights off and be very quiet. My heart sank because I know she doesn’t understand what that meant and seeing the news broke my heart.

It’s not just moms…. I hugged my daughter a little tighter this morning before school. I’m genuinely considering homeschooling her after I get done with work each day. But I know she’d miss out on so much with her friends. I’ve been advocating (calling local representatives) for reforms to laws and nothing gets done…. As a father who just wants his kids to feel safe, I feel like there’s nothing I can do. It’s the leading cause of death for children in the U.S. and the conversation goes nowhere every time.
