they turn down everyone the first time. we had a friend that had to do 3 appeals with an attorney. go get one ASAP!

But they give it to people who don’t need it. So awful. The amount of money we pay out and get denied when needed is ridiculous. I hope they wake up and give it to you immediately!!!

Keep reapplying my friend worked for SS and they deny 3x and with them being short staffed it may take longer. Just keep applying and don't give up!!! Sorry you are having to deal with this 😔

I’d recommend getting a lawyer now, even though you already appealed. And ask your doctors to write medical opinion statements. Also, everyone gets denied the first time, unfortunately.

I had an attorney just for the formalities and got it. However, I wouldn’t have if I didn’t do the things he didn’t do. They don’t make it easy but hang in there. You’re right, who is gonna hire someone with Alzheimer’s???? I have physical issues too, which is what I started the process for, found out during my diagnosis for Alz and that is what eventually got me approved. My Dr gave me 5-8 years back then before I was in full dementia. Who wants to work when you know you only have a few good years left? Smh!

Get a lawyer. Why don’t more comments tell you this. The lawyer will take his fee out of your lump sum because I think they have to pay you back to original appl date and take your son to Disney! Not enough staff, wheels roll slow, and on and on. I can’t imagine. I already take seizure meds and was given statin for cholesterol and kept noticing my memory was getting bad. I looked up alhmeizer’s and came across videos like yours. I kept seeing comments from people who said talk to doctor about statin. It causes memory loss!! I wish you the best!
