Asmongold really went down the pipeline into full alt right mouthpiece. Just let game makers make their games and stop whining when it’s from an experience that isn’t your own (in this case having to cross a border for a better life).

Hey actually game developers should not lie to their audience about how they have are funded by Microsoft, Sweet Baby and have ties to UN initiatives. This shouldn’t be controversial to say, gaming studios should be transparent with their audience, hope this helps! 😁

He appeals to antisocial people with a chip on their shoulder by making his whole personal brand about being a gross, deplorable capital G gamer. He leans into it and that is very validating for people who struggle to connect with others in normal life. Introduce social topics that they all get to commiserate about-a continuation of the legacy of gamergate- and eventually the group falls into a pattern of actively seeking media that will make them mad, which will make them feel even more insular, included, and validated in their little pocket community. It's self-soothing by way of unabashed xenophobia and bigotry, because it feels really good to be part of something, even if that something is hating on stuff together. This week it will be some indie game called Take Us North, next week it will be some other game and some other topic they've collectively decided to hate.
