@juliakuhnslp: Sometimes you just need to get out there and solo is the way to do it. I’ve hiked across the country alone, and with my dog. I never post in real time and let trusted people know where I am so they can follow my location. I also always download a trail map ahead of time that tracks me via GPS so I don’t get lost. I use AllTrails Plus to download my maps and navigate. The app even alerts me if I accidentally go off trail. @AllTrails is currently running a 50% off sale now for a yearly subscription until September 3rd, 2025.
