@newyorkcitykopp: Yesterday I rode the D Train from Bryant Park down to Grand St in Chinatown, and then walked across the Manhattan Bridge. It’s a loud crossing, subway cars rattling past, cars rushing below, the steady hum of the city, but the payoff is the view. From up on the Manhattan Bridge you can see the Brooklyn Bridge, and Lower Manhattan, stretched out in front of you, all glowing in the late day light. Once on the Brooklyn side, I headed down into DUMBO and made my way to the East River just in time for sunset. The skyline was lit up in layers of orange, pink, and deep blue, reflecting perfectly off the water. After that, I wandered through the neighborhood’s cobblestone streets and old industrial buildings, which are now full of shops, art, and people out enjoying the evening. I then walked over to the A Train, and took it back to Manhattan, and went home.
