My mom taught me to flush the cardboard applicators when I was kid. I learned the hard way not to do that.

Where I'm from tampons never come with applicators and I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that in other countries they do and that it's actually the norm in other parts of the world. It's really fascinating, though, how different such common things are across the globe.

Nope, the cardboard hurts and never pulls out all the way, but it gets stuck up in there and sometimes you don’t realize it until you go to sit down like oh shoot what is that? It’s the other half of the cardboard that didn’t come out.

I got a cut just inside my vagina from a plastic applicator where the end opens when you push it through, when I was a teenager, and I just kept bleeding and I had to go get it cleaned out. I Never used a plastic applicator again.
