as someone who does dissociate as a defense mechanism, its scary how accurate this is. While I'm not naturally aggressive like Jax, the way he just stops, and blocks everything is very accurate to whenever I'm talked to after I dissociate. Your brain just automatically shuts all negative emotions down because being sad or angry is something you were taught is bad, and feeling emotionally numb for the rest of your life is better. I am still trying to find a way to stop dissociating, but its a part of daily life, just lightly dissociating even when nothing is really wrong.
