Has no one taught you the graduate reading process? Abstract, intro, 1 chapter, conclusion if anything. Most graduate programs will assign a book a week if not more, most professors don’t assume you read the entire thing. Although if you can, go for it. Skimming becomes a big thing in academia so much so I have to remind myself “pleasure” reading is a thing.
