The first group removals of illegal migrants under the UK’s one in, one out deal with France have now begun, in what ministers are calling a “momentous step” in the government’s fight to tackle the migrant crisis. In the past week, two group flights returned a total of 19 individuals to France, following the earlier return of seven people last month. More group flights are expected to take place in the coming days and weeks. Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood exclusively told GB News: “These flights mark a turning point in our fight against the criminal gangs exploiting our borders.
