@mathandcobb: Here is what abstract algebra sounds like in Spanish (algebra abstracta en español) #math #mathtok #español #abstractalgebra #algebraabstracta
as an italian, it’s impressive how the technical terms are pretty much the same

Álvaro, ya te he escuchado hablar en español antes y no acabo de pillarte el acento. Me suena muy ligeramente a extranjero o catalán/valenciano muy suave. 🧐

This is fascinating because I have trouble understanding spoken Spanish in general conversation, but in a classroom context it’s easier for me to understand what you’re saying. I suppose it’s because every statement is related to math so it’s easier for a non-native speaker with math knowledge to follow along.

So, my Spanish is pretty terrible. And, the subtitles helped, but I was totally able to follow the proof in Spanish. Also, worth noting that my abstract math isn't by best area either. Love it.

Interesting! I know some Spanish and I know math. So it’s interesting how I can still understand what’s being said but also not really understand what’s being said.
