@muslimwmnconnect: The most magical Muslim Women Connect event in Cambridge! We began with a guided tour of the breathtaking Cambridge Central Mosque. From its eco-conscious design to the stunning timber arches inspired by nature, the mosque’s rich history as the first purpose-built eco mosque in Europe set the perfect tone for a day of reflection and creativity. From there, we headed to the forested grounds of Cambridge Muslim College where we immersed ourselves in a hands-on workshop with Tahsin Ahmed, Founder of Nakshi Stitch. Through the traditional art of Nakshi Kantha embroidery, a centuries-old practice of hand-stitching layered cloth with intricate patterns- we explored heritage, storytelling, and community. Each stitch told its own story, and it was beautiful to see so many meaningful conversations and connections taking shape alongside the embroidery. This was more than just a craft session. It was an opportunity to reflect on values of simplicity, resourcefulness, and mindful living, inspired by our faith.
