I was born and raised in The Netherlands, never gotten used to its flatness, its uninterrupted grey skies, it’s perfect square fields and straight roads. Have always loved nature, hills and mountains, a bit of imperfection too here and there and always searched places to go on holiday that had those, yet never felt at home anywhere. Until I went to Scotland. It’s not all these picture perfect TT’s but to me it felt in all its beauty and ugliness like I finally came home. It’s harsh and pretty, flowing and tough, magical and real, gloomy and bright, cold and warm. All at once. The people are down to earth and rough around the edges but not mean, it’s lonely and desolate yet crowded at places. I’ve had to leave and came back two times. This year I’ll be going back for the fourth time. Can’t wait to feel back home again. And maybe just maybe one day I’ll go and stay. ❤️
