Have an officer with when you speak with neighbors for smooth negotiation. Bodycam footage should be admissible “if” something comes up later.

I’d still send a certified letter. I used to be a landlord and it was big on having all notifications certified to show they received it. I am in another state but it makes good sense not just that you had discussions because then it’s hearsay

Have the police come and do a civil standby while you cut the utilities. This way, everyone is encouraged to behave themselves, and if anything happens you’re not on your own and there’s an independent recording of the interaction. If you have the police there, they’re a whole lot less likely to get any ideas about retaliating.

Before doing anything (cut off water, remove chickens, etc), I would give them advance notice in writing. That way when you do take action they can't come back and say you harmed them in anyway. Not that they have grounds to complain but they may just want to make your life miserable.
