jaystwocents put out a video and an update to that video regarding this. it's not a virus and most cases a reboot fixes it. and it happens with high speed data transfers on specific ssd's with a specific SSD controller.

Defender updates don't give you viruses. At least show us the email you claim they sent. In general, we need info, not fear mongering; how many drives did you have, how do you know Windows supposedly gave you the virus, did you recover anything, etc.

If a file that was deleted had monetary value, under court "terms and conditions" wont hold up. its an oxymoron, the company has to uphold user privacy and data regardless of the terms and conditions. They already had multiple class actions about this and they lost em all.
