I had a friend purposely plan then so less people would come - not necessarily costs - but just wasn’t her vibe to have hundreds there - but didn’t want to not invite. Lol

Long weekend (Victoria day, Canada day, civic holiday, Labor Day) = fine, HOLIDAY weekend (I.e. thanksgiving and Easter) = not fine

i’m jewish and long weekend weddings are the most common because jews have weddings on sundays because of shabbat so the long weekend is actually ideal for a wedding

Honestly, I personally just hate going to weddings so if I have to go to a wedding, I don’t want to waste my 3 day weekend doing that.

Had my wedding on the May 24. My sister was annoyed. I said "Hey, I'm getting married once but totally understand if you need to go to the cottage" 🤷♀️And I honestly was fine if someone declined to attend. all good.

I got married on a long weekend 36 years ago. I chose the long weekend only because we had a lot of people travelling from far away.💕
