As someone who was listening to all this stuff at the time it was around, it wasn’t called Lofi hip hop at the time. It was just a part of the bigger underground/indie hip hop scene at the time. Among Nujabes and Dela there was Shin Ski, Kero One, Hazel, Eric Lau and more. Wild how it has evolved into what it is now.
