SO GLAD YOU MENTIONED THE KYLO REN COMIC QUOTE. I don’t really enjoy any of that comic but that line truly understands the force and kind of course corrects the midichlorian discourse.

Thank you for this. Having owned an rp server in the past its astonishing how many people think midichlorians equal power level. Sometimes even continuing to think that after explaining what they really are to them.

I’ve never seen any reason to believe that one’s connection to the Force is dependent on a midichlorian count, which may or may not be stagnant for their whole life. If anything, I think it’s the reverse. Midichlorian abundance can fluctuate throughout one’s lifetime and it’s dependent upon their willingness to open themselves up to the Force. It’s just that everyone starts at different points

Looking through the comments, so few seem to get that the count is a ratio. It's how many midichlorians are present in a set sample size of cells. So Vader & Anakin would have the same count. Nor do people get that midichlorian count does not translate directly to power. It's the strength of their potential. Midichlorians are like an antenna, the bigger the antenna, the stronger the signal. You just have to tune it via training. Anakin never acheived his full potential because he couldn't give up his ambition, his greed for power. Vader even less so, because as much as Anakin failed to fully surrender to the light, Vader couldn't overcome his conflict. Big antenna, never managed to tune it properly. Luke had a slightly smaller antenna, mannaged to tune it properly, was more powerful than Vader/Anakin.
