I have a feeling this was a miscarriage and this is all being sensationalized.

It wasn’t an infant. It was a fetus

the coroner asked that people stop calling it an infant or a baby. they said fetus is an appropriate term. I'm not saying what she did was right but believing cops in an anti abortion state is really questionable

It is telling they didn’t release weight, length, or estimated gestational age.

Not an infant until proven it didn’t die before it was born. If it did, it’s considered a fetus

if they couldn’t tell by now, it’s probably a miscarriage

That’s not the autopsy report, this is a press release, the autopsy report is multiple pages long

Someone wrote she miscarried, panicked and hid the little body. If this is true then the witch hunt is cruel.

I really have a feeling that she had a miscarriage and although it is odd to put it in a trash bag when I had a miscarriage at 12-13 weeks I was advised by my doctor that I did not have to come in, I needed to set an appointment for the upcoming week to ensure everything had passed and I was no longer pregnant. At that time they told me that if I was able to I could put the matter in a ziplock bag and bring it with me to the appointment but it was not necessary and they knew it could be difficult for me to do so. I live in Michigan and she was in Kentucky and the laws seem to be different but, it's not even considered a "still birth" until after 20 weeks. If she was 20 weeks there would indeed be a viable fetus and it could be up to 7 inches long (banana or sweet potato size) and I've read a couple different things but in Kentucky you technically don't have to contact anyone about disposal for 24 hours (I also read somewhere that says you have 10 days to report it) I hope this girl is not a monster I really do

All we need is the weight of the “infant” to determine how far along she was. If they know it was a boy, she was at least 17-18 weeks along, but still not necessarily old enough to survive outside the womb. Until we have more facts on this case, we shouldn’t judge her, especially given her states new laws

There’s a reason they’re not even hinting at the size of the “infant”. They don’t want us to know the gestation, because it’s another case of miscarriage being criminalised.

How couldn’t they tell? It’s weird to me because either there was oxygen in the lungs or not? That’s factual information.

They are awaiting further testing of the lungs to rule out if they were born alive or not

As someone who had a miscarriage (i was 14), it was very hard for me to dispose my baby. It took me about a week before i went to the hospital so they could handle it properly. People who haven’t had a miscarriage will never understand the psychological trauma that happens after a miscarriage. Grief makes us do things that we normally wouldn’t do.

If it was nothing she should have went to the hospital. Hiding something means she knew better.

“Microscopic analyses” means they’re going to try to see if she did anything to contribute to the fetal demise. They’re trying to make the case against her.
