I know people interpret the baby box thing as the Buckley parents loving Buck less than Maddie but I think what it's supposed represent is that they were loving parents before Daniel died so they'd have started a box for her then but if that wasn't the case she'd probably be in the same boat as Buck, they ghosted both their children. The difference is that Maddie had experienced them being loving parents at one point in her life and lost that and Buck just never experienced it (and maybe had a slightly harder time because he was the reminder of their grief) and I'm not sure which one is worse because you can't really miss what you never had but it would have fucked up his development for sure but Maddie got suddenly deprived of something she'd have grown accustomed to and also had to take responsibility of looking after her brother on top of that. Urgh I have so many feelings about these two and their childhood trauma, I relate to it quite a bit and I fucking love their relationship ❤️When Chim says she didn't want you to think you weren't loved and Buck says you know what? I wasn't 💔 that with the voice crack hits me right in the feels. Lovely edit! 💕
