Some of you all don't even know what retcon means. Haki is not a retcon is a reveal. The introduction of haki doesn't change anything about Zoro's sword play here it just give it a word to describe it. Zoro taped into observation and armament haki,it doesn't matter if the word Haki was not on Oda's mind yet.

it was the rhythm of the material. he says about the rhythm of the soil and then how to not cut things. he slashes a leaf and it doesn't cut because of the rhythm of the material. this was not haki!
