🪴My Sebum Mucizonia has outgrown its pot! It’s time for a repot! Plantum suggests a soil PH-level of 6.1 to 6.5 and moderate watering once every 2 weeks. 1. I’m not sure if this is the correct new pot size, so I’m going to utilize the pot measuring feature Okay, according to Plantum, this is a suitable pot size. Usually, the new pot should only be 1-2 inches larger than the previous one. 2. So I am gently lifting the plant along with the root ball from its old pot, so as not to disturb the roots too much. After that, I carefully remove the top layer of soil and loosen the roots. This will help the plant acclimate to its new home. 3. Transplanting also allows you to assess the condition of the root system and, if necessary, remove any dead parts of the plant. Ideally, the roots should be firm and fairly light in color. If you notice any rotten, black, or brittle, dried-out roots, trim them! 4. Now, we’re going to transfer the plant into the new pot by carefully lifting and placing it in, then filling the rest of the pot with soil. * Different plant species prefer varying soil compositions. For my Sedum Mucizonia plant, a loose and lightweight soil mix would work best, promoting good air circulation. ** Keep in mind that an ideal pot should have drainage holes at the bottom to remove excess water, preventing water stagnation and root rot. For aesthetic purposes, you can then place a drained pot into a more elegant decorative container. 5. Lastly, I need to locate a suitable new spot for my Mucizonia, so I’ll let Plantum measure the light levels to find the perfect location.
