His cheeks don’t look like the cheeks of a house cat. He probably looks like that because he gets in cat fights and that is his body response to protect his head. Even if he has an owner, they’re probably not very responsible and this boy deserves better.

Please trap and keep him. He needs help and if he does have an owner, they so muck bc clearly he needs medical help and needs to be fixed.

If you’re able to catch him, I would definitely ask the vet to have him fixed. It’s completely irresponsible for his owners not to do that.

Theory: The “cats owner” is not actually the owner but just someone who has been feeding it for a while. Which is why he’s not skinny but also would explain his condition

trust me, that cat would be much happier with a home as an indoor cat, maybe on leash at least. outdoor cats live so much shorter lives and if he has some issues with his senses, as you suggested, he's much safer indoors

Three things you can do: 1. If the person who claims he has a house showed you the house - go knock on the door and ask - tell them you’re checking to make sure you don’t take someone’s pet and they will be nicer to you than if you just took them to the vet without asking. 2. If they say it isn’t theirs and the cat will allow it, put a note on a little piece of string around his neck or put a basic collar on him with a note attached and ask the owner to write back and pop it on the collar so you know if they are stray, 3. If neither of those things work then catch the cat and take to vet to check for microchip and do a checkup

There's no such thing as 'outdoor' or 'stray' cats, just as there's no 'outdoor' or 'stray' people. He's homeless. Wild cats are lions, tigers, lynxes, leopards. Felis catus is a domesticated animal. They're not supposed to be living like that.

It makes sense if he’s someone’s pet that you don’t see him in winter cause they don’t roam around as much when it’s cold! Why would they when there’s a warm bed to snooze in? In summer it’s fun to explore

I keep mine indoors Mid Autumn to Mid Spring. It gets cold to freezing temperatures and I can't have them out and our home losing heat.

If he does have an owner it’s irresponsible to let him roam unattended and not neutered. Even if he was neutered it’s still irresponsible. Please trap him and get him a home who cares about his wellbeing
