I totally agree, and I also think the person venting should first ask if we have the time to listen or the headspace to take on the venting. I always ask if they want advice or they want to vent BUT it becomes draining when that person keeps venting about the same thing with no solutions. After some time you need to search for solutions, ask for advice, or consult with someone that licensed to hear you vent.
