@gingerditchdr: Today felt like the unofficial kickoff to fall. 🍂 I started the morning with work, then spent some time with a friend’s son who interviewed me for a school project about my experience of 9/11 — such a meaningful conversation. The rest of the day turned into a fall prep marathon: yard work, cleaning up the patio and porch furniture, and giving the hot tub a good scrub so it can finally come back to life for the season. Dinner was the perfect reward — the first pot of chili this year, paired with cheesy hatch green chili cornbread (because why settle for plain cornbread?), a pear salad (true southern classic), and topped off with a slice of my homemade pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing. 🎃 I might even push my luck with a cup of coffee tonight to go with it.
