There will be people doing all of those things. The student workers. I’m a student working at Coffman and I have been given zero info on what’s happening to me besides the fact that where I work will be closed. I maybe be placed in a dinning hall or elsewhere. I support the strike but please remember the student workers that will potentially be picking up the slack and have no information on if they will be able to work anywhere.

19% of the budget to student instruction is insane. $18,214 a year for in state tuition and $39,362 for out of state. So like, the $3,500 of $18k is what goes to the only reason students pay to go there. Insane. I think the admins might need to hit an accounting class.

It’s not just universities in MN behaving this way either! Schools in MN! Why do we keep paying people 100s of thousands and the teachers and staff who make the schools ACTUALLY run, make little to nothing and have to have 2-3 jobs? But then people say “get a better job”… who is gonna be teachers?teachers need the support staff and that staff is damn near impossible to get because they don’t wanna pay! (I’m a para/substitute teacher-this makes me so mad!)

Colleges are a horrible scam. They take money from everybody, students, governments, charities, then pay their teachers and service staff nothing, do the bare minimum for their students, and let their administrative staff live like royalty. This has to end.

I work in healthcare and was just talking about the same thing. Raising premiums without adjusting wages to compensate IS a pay decrease. Meanwhile the CEO is making 3 mil to send emails that say “We see you” lmaooo OK
