5 things marathon training taught me !! 1. RUN SLOW I used to think every run had to be fast, but marathon training taught me that slowing down builds endurance, prevents burnout and actually makes you faster over time. Easy runs are essential, not optional. 2. Fueling = performance I learned that what I eat directly impacts how I train and perform. No fuel = no energy. When I started having pre run meals, mid run gels, and post run recovery seriously, everything changed. Longer runs felt smoother, I recovered faster and I stopped hitting the wall. 3. Hydrate like it’s part of training (because it is) Dehydration doesn’t just slow you down, it can completely derail your run. I drink HYDREAU in all my runs now as it contains all the 5 essential electrolytes for both rapid hydration and recovery (available at Ampol Foodary) 4. Rest is part of the plan Rest is productive, it’s where your body rebuilds, adapts and gets stronger. I used to feel guilty taking rest days, but now I treat them as part of the process. 5.
