kinda proved my point tbh, all the good movies dont focus on diversity but passion and talent, if you were to look at all films created in the last couple years the number of forced diversity films would be very high, they just arent good and dont make the top of any lists

also movies aren't even bad right now, people just aren't watching the good ones. and the most acclaimed movies of the past few years have nearly all been diverse and inclusive. shocking that including the wider scope of humanity makes for a more human story...

I always flashback to when DeadPool 2 came out and people were hollering about how it was so in your face with Negasonic and Yukio being a couple and it was the distracting from the ~cinema~, and then watching the movie and being utterly underwhelmed by the amount of queerness given how much it was complained about, because they appear together in like 3 scenes and Yukio had like 2 lines in the entire movie

this is very true. the issue with artistic fields having problems/being bland now is bc companies are just churning out media to make money. theres no innovation, and the creativity among teams is being stifled so the companies make money. ik this situation is geared towards the film industry but just look at the video game industry, it is really bad there. capitalism is failing and thus innovation/creativity is gone.

its more so that capitalism is trying to find ways to make more.money by appealing to every group, even minoroty groups of whatever status you want to apply to that category. there isnt anything wrong with adding a little political pr social issues to movies, music, or video games, but you cant deny that once they started to make it a definitive aspect of the plot, every single one has failed. doesn't matter what media source. the consumers dont want it. to the point that even a hint of it now can destroy it before it had a chance to grow.
