Went back after a couple of years hiatus. I was so disappointed that most (really,all) of the galleries were closed/ for sale. My first time go, I loved it-so fun. But I would agree that some of the art was ridiculously hilarious ( ref- 8 yr old with crayons, & staples). We alway stay at La Paison, love the few boutiques/ stores on that street. Found a little Italian “shed” that had one of the best sandwiches I’ve had…. Couldn’t read a word on the French menu, but my inny-mini-miney - moe, worked beautifully!

Did you go to planet marfa? Dairy Queen? Marfa -a lot of fun to drink there and stumble around the town at night bar hopping & star gazing

I went there and was extremely under impressed with Marfa. But yes, some of the outlying areas like Ft Davis are very cool.

& then the pizza shop had vegan cheese white outed on the menu but not on Google maps. they had a dog in the restaurant though so it was fine

Marfa used to be great. I’ll never forgive them for making it another Joshua tree. Carmen’s was my favorite place to eat and it went away in 2011 😭

I think you and my husband are friends now. he will never get over the $27 crab cake (singular) he had there. he also hates the art.

There is a real disdain for the people that visit and support the town. The people need to get over themselves. Marfa is relatively interesting for Texas but that’s not saying much. Texas just isn’t that cool or interesting in general, and I live here.
