The top of my guide is $108,000. I have a masters degree +21 credits so I make more than that there ain’t no way I’m moving to Oklahoma or another red state.

As a 20 year veteran Oklahoma teacher, these policy proposals make me so sad. Oklahoma teachers are NOT okay with these proposed ideas. If that state leader had the appropriate knowledge or qualifications, he’d know better. Oklahoma teachers DO NOT share his thoughts for schools. Students should always come first.

Exactly - I make close to six figures, but rent in Las Vegas is hella high. No way I'm ever going to teach in OK. I'd take a 50% pay cut.

NJ teacher here… I already told dh that if he got a job in a red state, he would have to make enough for me to not work. Because there’s no way in hell I’d teach in a red state. And my kids would have to be done with school because I’m not sending them to red state schools.

Rent here is $2.5k a month, and that’s considered a steal. My teacher salary barely covers the cost of living but it’s more than I’d get in a red state 🤷♀️

I was raised in Va and now live in NC… teachers are paid about 30% less here. Ain’t no one trying to teach in red states. That’s why they’re ranked so low in education
