@booktalkwithmars: ✨ HAPPY RELEASE DAY @Hannah Bonam-Young ✨ ARC Review - 5⭐️ This is the spiciest HBY book I've ever read and I've read all of them. Yet despite the spice and smut, this book still brought all the emotions out the way HBY always does in her books. I feel like that's her signature writing style. If it doesnt bring the waterworks out, it's not her book. This book explored and showed love in so many ways and I love that. It shows the love between Milo and Prue. The significance of having your family as your support system (both shown through Milo's siblings and Prue's parents). It showed a community who was willing to rally and help their neighbors out in times of crisis. It also depicted making mistakes, asking for forgiveness and starting with a clean slate in ways that are relatable. I connected with Prue off the bat. I am totally on her side about wanting to be there for the people who she loves and loved her. Milo was easy to connect with too but I think it's because I loved Nik and Nadia as well. Their relationship and some of their quirks and inside jokes were really refreshing to see on page as their sibling relationship and dynamic was depicted. I have read a handful of books that dealt with Alzheimer's and many of them have made me so emotional because I have dealt with the same thing with my grandma. One of my favorite lines in the book says: “You can decide someone doesn’t have a seat at your table without hoping that they starve.” The way that line just hit home for me. Milo and Prue's relationship was more hits for me but there were a couple of misses too. I love the whole "teach me" aspect of their story. Love their interactions at the dock and the significance of that location to their love story. Love the teasing and the chemistry between them. I did think it was too insta-lust in the beginning as well but then again, knowing Milo's history, maybe that's why he had that many partners is because he feels that too fast. There are a lot of spice scenes in this book, dare I say too much/many? Haha I did love the Not So Prude list btw. Such an unserious play on Prudence's name. Overall, I love this book. I cannot wait for my preorder to come so I can reread it. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for this eARC. #BookTok #bookquotes #newbooktuesday #newrelease #arcreview
