@moreewithmo: If you’re planning a trip to Wyoming, you’ve probably seen photos of the insanely turquoise waters of Delta Lake. Let me tell you—it’s just as magical in real life!! But here’s the thing: this hike is not for beginners. 📍 Trailhead: Start at Lupine Meadows Trailhead 🥾 Distance: ~7.5 miles roundtrip ⬆️ Elevation Gain: About 2,300 ft ⛰️ Difficulty: Strenuous (especially the last .5 mile) The trail starts out manageable, but once you cut off toward Delta Lake, it becomes unmaintained. The final half mile requires scrambling over boulders and navigating steep terrain. It can feel scary going up—and even scarier coming back down if you don’t know what you’re doing. I’ve done this hike twice now, and my biggest advice is: don’t go alone. Hike with someone skilled, bring plenty of water, and be ready for a real challenge.
