Nintendo isn’t against creature collectors, there’s dozens on the Nintendo eshop that Nintendo has never had an issue with. They’re against palworld blatantly ripping off pokemon designs and gameplay features. Proving they stole designs is near impossible in court though, thus the patents. Palworld got what they deserved imo, could have made a great game without having to copy anything. I doubt Nintendo uses these patents in court ever again
