Y’all, the thing has like half a brain cell- it’s obviously having the time of its life. It’s probably been saying “omg, look at that!” every 5 seconds it’s entire existence.

For anyone that doesn’t know Shrimp have a simple decentralized nervous system with small nerve clusters rather than a true brain, so they lack the capacity for emotions or higher awareness. While they show basic reflexes, there’s no evidence they experience complex suffering like mammals, which is why keeping them as pets isn’t considered harmful, they simply move and eat based on instinct not a conscious decision

That’s an Opae Ula shrimp. They live 20+ years in good conditions. It’s a brackish shrimp so it lives in a salinity half that of sea water with little to no dissolved solids.

my sister had a baby and I took it over after she passed away and the baby lost all its legs and arms and now its just a stump but I take care of it with my wife and... and its growing and its fairly happy... and its difficult because I'm working a second shift at the factory to put food on the table but all the love that I see in that little guy's face it makes it worth it in the end. True story.

To everyone who doesn’t understand what a CLOSED self sustaining ecosystem is.. you cannot add to, or take away from the system, it is balanced and it is CLOSED, if you upset the balance the shrimp will die,
