I remember it well and all the other hackers that would kill everyone or write gold selling messages out of corpses, flying or instant teleporting to the flag, wall climbing etc in bgs. The list goes on.

It helped that NPCs couldn't die from it, but could contract it, so it still spread until the reset. It's still interesting because people's reactions were also heavily studied - some worked to spread the plague, some worked to cleanse it, some worked to avoid it entirely.
