so perfectly well said. it's like- a self insert fanfiction, and the fourth wall is separating the reality and fiction. Just like how being a "character" determined if people were 'real' or not, even when the two worlds blended. which is why I think dokja felt nervous around gilyoung and sangah, because they were his anchor for reality, and he was reminded by the situation he was in when looking at them. the fourth wall gatekept all his attributes, all his feelings, all his weaknesses, as if it were plot armor. without it, dokja would be a character. which, he does, at the end.
