For people in the comments, coming from a former Mormon, yeah, that’s a thing they do. A lot. Most of the time, in order to submit a name, they need to be your relative, but…they’re probably not checking super closely. Looking back on my experience with it, it now makes me feel pretty bad about it. It’s couched as “giving them the opportunity in the afterlife to accept or not” but it still makes me feel wrong about having done it.

The strive for incompatibility is actually crazy. If you continue to look for problems with others you will always find them. You obviously don’t believe in the same God but one day you’ll come across someone in his favor and recognize it.

Just hear me out, if someone is fully convinced that a person who doesn’t believe in their own religion will perish for eternity, then is it not loving for that person to try to convince others to believe? And if it isn’t true, then what harm does it cause for someone to talk to themselves about you?

I had surgery 2 weeks ago, I went to my pre op appointment and filled out paper stating I am not religious in any way and do not want to participate in anything religious before / during or after my surgery this was also confirmed VERBALLY. Well right before being wheeled into the OR they had a man come in AND PRAY OVER ME !?! I WAS SO UNCOMFORTABLE AND MAD
