if you keep jumping from one thing to another it becomes hard to look back to anything worthwhile. focus on working on one thing first. when you look back, you have a previous accomplishment that tells you you can do something valuable because they serve as proof whenever the doubts sets in

In a similar vein, I’ve struggled my whole life with motivation (I have pretty severe adhd). What has helped drastically (in addition to taking medication) is only thinking one small step ahead. I ALWAYS think about every tiny step that needs to get done and the order to do it in and I’m exhausted before I begin. But I love started telling myself “right now, you only have to do x.” For example getting up in the morning is hard because of how much I have to do to get ready. When I tell myself “I just have to put my feet on the floor and get my fluffy robe and slippers on right now” it’s suddenly a lot easier to get out of bed.
