What a fanfic premise!! Edward leaving because he thinks it’s the best thing for Bella, only to find her at the Volturri as a 45 year old immortal (Bella’s worst nightmare) and heavily traumatized by both when he left originally, and her family (by marriage) having been wiped out (indirectly by the volturi, she doesn’t know it was them) and losing everyone. And Edward realizing he didn’t at all make the right choice and having to try and make it right as best he is able.
