@yzbyifgnjq: I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to pick the right song lyric for this post. There isn’t one that seems to capture the amount of comfort and companionship this soundtrack has provided me, especially the last few months. Wait for It and Dear Theodosia have always been two of the songs that mean the most to me — the kind of songs you hear and immediately and deeply feel so connected to. Leslie Odom Jr. has been a soundtrack to many a contemplative moment for me. What are we building? Who is it for? What is my role in it? What will we leave behind? By happenstance, a stroke of luck, and a perfectly timed response on a random strangers Facebook post, we somehow ended up seeing his limited run back on Broadway in celebration of ten years of Hamilton. It was perfect and serendipitous and one of those moments that reminded me of the pure magic of living in New York City.
