i was one of those teens! except i put myself on nexplanon at 16 without telling my parents. it wasnt only the iud, all bc options were available!my mom had a teen pregnancy and i was not repeating that!

I love this and have said this over and over again!!!! I don’t love the parents not knowing. BUT that is because I am a parent who does what is right in the moment for my child and not what I want. I would want to know for health reasons but in the end the bigger picture is important.

I never understood why the anti abortion crowd never got onto this. As you said, the most cost effective way to reduce the number of abortions is to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and the only effective way to do that is with ready access to education and contraception.
