@alltimeisaac1: When the world feels heavy, here are games that help us practice the skills we actually need. These aren’t your typical board games - they’re tools for learning consensus building, mutual aid, and collaborative decision-making through play. #ttrpg #communityorganizing #tabletopgames #socialchange #mutualaid

I just found your page! Anamnesis is a favorite of mine. It's a solo game about identity, self discovery, and reflection. My previous therapists have actually utilized it in their practices for help with mindfulness. Not community based, but very much a practice in self love and it's helped me through tough times when I can't get a bunch of people together.

omg you should try "I'm sorry did you say street magic?" it's all about literally building collectively imagined neighborhoods and communities with an emphasis on poetic understandings of space and place!

Great list! I think that most Belonging Oustside Belonging games (games that use the Dream Askew/Apart engine) would fit into this category ☺️also maybe story forward post apocalyptic games? (Apocalypse World and Apocalypse Roadtrip are the first two that come to mind for me)

So glad to see The Quiet Year on this list. It’s easy to pick up and there’s so much room for players to infuse it with personal meaning. I’ve had a great time with it.

if you're not already friends with my friend, you should be, lol. He was a PhD student studying education stuff through LARPing at UW, so I assume yall have people in common...
Anyway, my ttrpg group tried the Quiet Year, we accidentally took it very off the rails. I think there were antagonistic robots that turned to to be being controlled by cats and maybe somehow there was a nuclear Armageddon that we had to burrow underground to get away from?
